New Admissions and Assistantship Letter Templates for Fall 2024

Dear Graduate Coordinators, Program Directors, and Financial Processors,

The Collective Bargaining Agreement with UAW representing academic student employees (ASEs) has now been ratified. As we move into the implementation period, we are working across the system to set new processes in place. During this time, we will build new tools and communicate updates to assist with the transitions associated with the WSU/UAW Contract.

As the first of what will be many steps, I am pleased to make available the new admissions letter template and assistantship appointment letter template. Note that these will now be separate (but should be sent simultaneously) when making a recommendation for admission to your program with an assistantship. That is, the new recommendation for admission must go to all students and has been separated from the funding letter.  The assistantship appointment letter will also be used to make an offer of funding to continuing students.

As a reminder, you can also visit the Graduate School Assistantship webpage, which will continually be updated during this period. We also have an updated Knowledge Base on Managing Admission in myWSU.

Contract implementation will continue to be a work in progress, and we appreciate any feedback that you want to offer. Also, please let us know if we can assist you as you begin to use these templates to make your Fall 2024 offers.

We appreciate everyone’s patience with this new process.

Tammy
