Domestic Student Requirements

Application Requirements for Domestic Students

Prospective domestic students must have received a baccalaureate degree from a college or university, accredited by a recognized association, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.00. (Note: Applied baccalaureate degrees from Washington State community colleges authorized to offer such degrees are considered acceptable for admission to the Graduate School. However, specific programs may not accept applied baccalaureate degree applicants who do not have the appropriate prerequisites or may require prerequisite coursework as a condition of admission.)

Transcripts are required for the application review process. A copy of unofficial transcripts from every college and university that the applicant attended is acceptable for the application review process. If you have a copy of your transcript from your Registrar’s office in your possession you can upload these transcripts via the online application.

Official transcripts are required for all applicants who have received final notice of admission from the Graduate School. These official documents must be received within your first semester at WSU. Official transcripts are those mailed directly from the registrar of the institution attended; transcripts that are not mailed directly or sent electronically from the registrar are unofficial. The Graduate School will accept electronic transcripts from U.S. institutions via the official electronic transcript process of the registrar’s office of the institution. In such cases, the applicant should provide the registrar with the following email address for corresponding with the Graduate School regarding electronic transcripts:

Grad.Sch.Transcript@wsu.edu. All transcripts sent to the Graduate School as part of the application process become part of the official Graduate School application file and cannot be returned or transferred.

All admitted applicants must submit one set of official transcripts from the following:

  1. All accredited colleges or universities attended for any undergraduate coursework (including undergraduate coursework taken after the bachelor’s degree); and
  2. The accredited colleges or universities from which any bachelor’s degrees and/or graduate degrees have been granted or are expected; and
  3. The accredited colleges or universities showing any graded graduate level (including doctoral) coursework taken after the bachelor’s degree. Domestic applicants who attended institutions outside the United States or Canada should follow these directions. If you attended Washington State University, you do not need to submit transcripts from WSU; these are available to the Graduate School.

Official GRE/GMAT scores and dates (if required by department). Send scores to institution code 4705 (do not include a departmental code).
