Prestigious Fellowships Workshops


Applying for external fellowships and grants is an excellent way to fund your graduate education. The process is also a professional development experience for many students who will be seeking academic career placement where grant funding is a necessity. The Graduate School offers training to help students apply for a number of these prestigious fellowships. Read more about the fellowships and register for the workshops below.

Workshop I

This workshop will cover the basics of how to apply, including strategies to help you put your application in the best light. This session will repeat information from the April workshop. You may view the video of April’s workshop on the right.

Workshop II

This workshop is focused on National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowships. You will be provided with individualized attention to improve the statements that accompany your application. The due dates for these applications are October 23-28. Be sure to read the program solicitations thoroughly before starting your application and start inputting your information on the NSF website here:

For the workshop, please bring a draft of your personal, relevant background, and future goals statement and your graduate research plan.

  • Proposed field(s) of study
  • Proposed graduate study and graduate school information
