The Graduate School systematically collects and analyzes data from multiple sources to support continuous program improvement and enhance the quality of graduate education across the university. We provide programs with the tools and guidance necessary to effectively utilize these insights for meaningful educational enhancements.
Graduate Student Survey
2025 Graduate Student Survey Public Dashboard
Since 2011, the WSU Graduate School has conducted comprehensive surveys of doctoral and master’s students across all campuses, with the most recent administration in Spring 2025. These surveys provide a systematic evaluation of key aspects of the graduate experience, including:
- Program quality and academic advising
- Financial support and access to teaching and research opportunities
- Program climate, food and housing security, and student wellbeing
- Barriers to degree completion, academic achievements, career plans, and overall satisfaction
The data collected offer valuable insights into the strengths and challenges of graduate education at WSU. Graduate programs use these findings to guide strategic planning, support continuous improvement, and make evidence-based decisions that enhance academic offerings and enrich the graduate student experience.

Graduate Placement Data
Graduate School Placement Data Dashboard
The Graduate School systematically tracks both initial and long-term placement outcomes for students who complete doctoral, master’s, and graduate certificate programs. Placement data are categorized using standardized industry and occupational taxonomies, along with geographic identifiers, to ensure consistency and comparability across programs.
This structured approach provides clear insights into the real-world impact of WSU’s graduate programs and supports program-level strategic planning, continuous improvement, and stakeholder reporting. The data help academic units assess career readiness, monitor trends, and strengthen connections with employers and alumni.

Survey of Earned Doctorates
WSU Survey of Earned Doctorates Dashboard
The Survey of Earned Doctorates is an annual census of research doctorate recipients from U.S. academic institutions that collects information on educational history, demographic characteristics, graduate funding sources and educational debts, and postgraduation plans. Survey results for individuals who received a research doctorate from WSU are available via the link below.
