GPSA Seeking College Representatives

Dear Graduate and Professional Students,

The Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) is seeking three new College Representatives to join our Executive Board. These positions are vital for representing your college and ensuring strong advocacy for graduate and professional students.

Vacant College Representative Positions

  • College of Communication
  • College of Business
  • College of Veterinary Medicine

Role Responsibilities

  • Serve on the GPSA Executive Board
  • Chair one GPSA Standing Committee
  • Attend Senate and Executive Board meetings
  • Communicate with constituents and advocate for your college

Expected time commitment: 8–10 hours per week

Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled in a graduate or professional program at WSU Pullman
  • Must meet GPSA bylaws requirements (term limits, enrollment status)
  • Appointments will respect the Executive Board composition rule: No more than two representatives from any one college (excluding Executive Officers)

How to Apply

  • Members may be nominated to a vacant position by three (3) Senators or a majority of the Senators from the College represented by the vacant College Representative position. Submit nominations and the Departmental Consent for Candidacy to the Vice President, Rose Maleki (vpgpsa@wsu.edu) by October 31, 5:00 pm. GPSA Senators are encouraged to help facilitate nominations for qualified members across colleges to ensure equitable access.

If multiple nominees are submitted for the same position, the Senate Chair will recommend an order for voting, which the Senate must approve before the vote.

  • Application period: Open now until Friday (Oct 31) before the Senate meeting
  • Include your college affiliation and committee preference

Timeline

  • Oct 24: Announcement and regular nomination period opens
  • Oct 31: Deadline for regular nominations period
  • Nov 3: Senate votes to confirm appointments

Appointments require a two-thirds (2/3) or majority vote of the Senate at a regular meeting.
