Stress Relief and Mindfulness Workshop

Presentation by: Anne Cox, Associate Professor, Kinesiology Program 

Graduate school can be stressful, competitive, and extremely demanding. Graduate students experience high rates of burnout and mental health problems from unrelenting workloads and pressure. It takes time and practice to learn to slow down, do less, and take care of yourself. Learn the basics of mindfulness and meditation training and how to realistically incorporate these practices into your daily life as a graduate student. We will be discussing mindfulness in a variety of contexts, with ample time to practice different techniques to enhance your wellbeing.

***Part of the workshop will be movement-based. Please wear comfortable clothes that will allow you to participate in some gentle yoga postures. Also, if you have a yoga mat you can bring, please do! We will also have some available for you to borrow.
