GradCAS, EngineeringCAS, WebAdMIT and Outcomes Support 2026

Training sessions provide a space to ask questions, troubleshoot issues, and get guidance on workflows. You may submit questions in advance or simply attend to learn from others’ questions. Submitting ahead of time allows our support staff to review your question, gather relevant resources, and maximize the value of each session.

All office hours will be recorded and are linked below.

Join via Microsoft Teams (all meetings will use the same link)

Submit a question in advance (optional)

Use the Smartsheet link below to submit your question ahead of time so we can route it to the right support staff and come prepared. Please do not include student PII in your submission.

Creating a Group in a segment – we’ll revisit this next session as there are a lot of questions here.

Tue Feb 3, 2026, 12:00–1:00 PMStudent View of GradCAS/EngineeringCAS portal. Understanding the four quadrants and what question options exist for programs
Using Tags. 1) Tags exist on Contacts and Applications as a property. When adding to the Application Grid, ensure you are not selecting the property listed under “applicant,” 2) Tags vs Application Property – Defining an Application Property is better for complex situations, 3) determine WSU’ use of Tags
Application versus Program Properties. Custom property (field) to collect or assign data to an Application. Application properties are able to be utilized on each application. These are data points collected after an application is submitted. For example, do you want to consider this student for an internship, is there scholarship criteria to note. An example you are using already would be the calculated term code. Sometimes these property needs are revealed more as we begin to talk through the Application Review or Management processes.
Program Properties. Assigned as the Program Level. So, things like campus or Program start date or program name. These are applicable across the program level.
Generally configured as part of the CAS application and populated in Outcomes to mirror that.
Application Summary/Side Bar displays. These are customizable views that can display different data based on logic. For example Education could have a set of properties available to view on the summary that would be different from Engineering. To edit summary/side bar – go to settings > Application Review>Application Summary View
Current Application Processes are helpful to collect. We need to start a running list of how they could translate to Outcomes – OR – if there is an existing process is best to continue the way it is. For example, is WebAdmit calculating pre-req GPA’s? That might be best to continue in WebAdmit. Another example, who touches defers, moves them through the process. Are there approvals that need to happen?

Wed Feb 11, 2026, 10:00–11:00 AMDashboards & reports functionality review
Dashboards are interactive – a user can click on a number in a chart and click through to that list

Dashboards are customizable by a user – with the personalize dashboard permission

Sample of Defer process – built out in prelaunch
Added a defer/change of program phase

Showed a Student Portal Stage – with a form for students to indicate one of those changes. The form could trigger an automation like Process Defer or Change Program. Depending on program that application can also be assigned to the person who needs to process the defer (or take action on the application)
