THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE PRESENTS:

GRADUATE STUDENT PRESTIGIOUS FELLOWSHIP WORKSHOP II

Dr. Michael Kahn, Institute of Biological Chemistry, CAHNRS

This event is free for graduate and undergraduate students

Students are invited to attend the free Graduate Student Prestigious Fellowship Workshops! These workshops will walk graduate students through the process of applying to the major prestigious fellowships. In addition to improving success in applying for these fellowships, the workshops provide students with valuable proposal writing and editing experience and information about additional funding opportunities. You will learn the basics of how to apply and receive individualized attention to help you with your application.

Instructions for this workshop:

We are going to be focusing on the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP) proposals but if you are writing for other agency, bring a copy of the instructions for the essays you are being asked to write. Students should bring 10 copies of a draft of each essay, xeroxed/printed one and a half or double spaced on one side of the paper. Put your name in the header of each page so that these are uniquely identified with you. Bring editing tools for working with paper—pens, pencils, highlighters.

Optional: Send drafts of your essays as Word documents to kahn@wsu.edu before September 6, 2018, we will circulate these to mentors so that they can make comments and provide feedback to you on September 12.

All PDI events will be available to sites other than Pullman through a web link that will be emailed to you before the event. Please make sure to register on the link below and indicate at which WSU site you are located.
