We invite you to join us, alongside some of the most knowledgeable experts in the field of AI communication, for a comprehensive discussion on the various applications of AI, its impact on community understanding, and an exploration of its potential in shaping our future.

Artificial intelligence has been utilized in various applications, but it is important to bring attention to the justice and equity issues that are often overlooked and not being adequately addressed in these advancements. While there may be a great deal of excitement and anticipation surrounding the implementation of  Large Language Models (LLMs), it is important to also consider the potential societal costs and disruptions that may arise from such changes, in addition to the potentially significant environmental impacts that could result. As a proponent of both artificial intelligence and social justice, join us to facilitate a dialogue between the two, utilizing the lessons of past historical movements to inform the development and implementation of new technology. A few of the topics that we will be exploring during this discussion will include a series of thought-provoking questions, such as:  Are there any existing community-governed infrastructures, such as preprint servers, repositories, or open publishing platforms, that have been proven to better serve the interests of both the research community and the general public? And, in order to promote a more community-oriented approach, what steps can we take to shift the default behavior towards utilizing these community-minded options?

By learning about efficient communication strategies for artificial intelligence, as well as incorporating inclusive AI models and discussions into our daily lives, we can work towards creating a more inclusive and understanding society.
