Program Description
The Graduate Program in Clinical Psychology is
based on the scientist-practitioner model of
training. The clinical faculty are committed to
integrating theory, research, and clinical
practice in educating students. Our goal is to
train highly competent clinical psychologists who
will obtain high quality, APA-approved
internships and, upon graduation, make positive
contributions to the field of clinical
psychology. Such contributions occur in
academic, research, medical, clinical, or
community settings depending upon a
student’s own interests and goals.
Hence, we provide broad, general clinical
training for students during their 4-5 years at
WSU. Areas of both research and clinical emphases
within our program include: adult
psychopathology, behavioral medicine, clinical
child and family psychology, and neuropsychology.
Our program is fully accredited by the American
Psychological Association.
