Student Learning Outcomes

All graduates will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate advanced knowledge in an area of specialty in animal science, such as nutrition, reproduction, meat science, genetics, genomics, and animal behavior.
  2. Demonstrate competency in collection, analysis, and reporting of data in their area of emphasis.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to write and orally describe scientific ideas, concepts, and results accurately and clearly.
  4. Conduct ethical scientific data collection, analysis, and reporting and the role this plays in society. Further, Graduate students must demonstrate proficiency in formulating hypotheses and predictions, design relevant experiments, validate methodology, and critically evaluate and interpret research findings.
