THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE PRESENTS:

MANAGING ACADEMIC RELATIONSHIPS

To build the strong professional relationships that are essential to a career in academia, it’s important to understand what makes a great partnership and how you can consciously work toward improving your connections with others. Drawing from best practices and research in the field of leadership, this interactive workshop will help you develop a new set of skills for creating and maintaining relationships with colleagues, mentors, and others in your professional network.

In this workshop, you’ll learn about:

  • Giving others good reason to trust you while intelligently trusting others.
  • Communicating with collaborators and ensuring that projects stay on track.
  • Understanding your own approach to relationship management and how you can take steps to improve it.
  • And other advice on building professional relationships that will last your career!

All PDI events will be available to sites other than Pullman through a web link that will be emailed to you before the event. Please make sure to register on the link below and indicate at which WSU site you are located.
