Before the pandemic, hiring in many countries was at the highest level ever. Beyond this, the hiring of PhDs worldwide surged by over 500% from 2016 to 2019. During this time, many job candidates were able to cut corners with their job search and, in particular, with their resume submissions. Instead of targeting individual resumes based on the company and position in question, many candidates simply sent out generic versions of their resume. Instead of carefully integrating industry specific transferable skills, core competencies and other keywords, these candidates merely listed their job duties and technical expertise. Today, and in any recession, a more strategic approach is needed. During this webinar, you will learn how to target your resume to an individual job posting and you will learn which of the 5 resume formats to use given the career in question, your technical background, and your experience level, and when to use them.

In terms of a job search, the purpose of your LinkedIn profile is to lead to LinkedIn connections that help you develop meaningful professional relationships that lead to informational interviews, job referrals, and eventually job interviews. In today’s pandemic and post-pandemic job market, you must connect with employees working at your companies of interest as these people can give you key insights on upcoming and/or unlisted job openings and what it’s really like to work at the company. In this webinar, you’ll learn about LinkedIn’s new tools and features, how to engage on LinkedIn to increase your visibility, how to reach out to and follow up with people on LinkedIn, and how to continually improve your LinkedIn presence so you can get hired.
